• Getting Windows XP Drivers for Compaq C700

    I bought a Compaq C713 TU Laptop before a few months which had Windows Vista Home Basic on it and as you know, you dont really need it!! So I got in touch with the HP guys and they provided me all the info to get the drivers for my laptop for Windows XP. I know there are a lot of you guys still hunting blogs n forums for this. So here is all the info you need to get them real easy.

    1. Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (must be installed on the notebook before installing Audio and Modem drivers)
      After installing Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Drivers restart the notebook and install following drivers.
    2. Conexant High Definition Audio Driver
      (Installing Audio drivers may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.)
      a. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
      b. Right click on “Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus” and click Update driver.
      c. Select “Install from a list or specific location”.
      d. Click Next. Then select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”.
      e. Click Next and then select “Sound, video and game controller” from the list.
      f. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
      g. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and continue with the onscreen instructions.
    3. Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP driver
      a. Right click on “Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus” and click Update driver.
      b. Select “Install from a list or specific location”.
      c. Click Next. Then select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”.
      d. Click Next and then select “Modem” from the list.
      e. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
      f. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp33890 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2b) file and click open and continue with the onscreen instructions.
    4. Video Driver
    5. Chipset driver
    6. PRO/Wireless Driver
    7. Synaptic Touchpad
    8. 5 in 1 card reader driver
    9. HP Quick Launch Buttons
    10. Realtek RTL8100CL LAN Driver

      yeh man it really worked on my hp compaqc700.i can now play video and her sound on my winxp operating system side.but it appears to be louder than that of vista cos i have both vista and xp running on the same notebook.

      infact i love u ,tinucleatus.

      i installed ur audio driver but there is a problem, when i connect headphone to my laptop then headphone works correctly but laptop speakers also give output,
      if u have any suggestion then write me

      You might not have installed the correct drivers. What is the model of your laptop? The ones I have posted here is for Compaq C713TU specifically but should work for most C7xx models. For others, there are specific drivers.

      I have Compaq Presario C795TU Notebook PC, Windows XP Pro. My problem is, i can’t use wireless. I’ll try to use Pro/Wireless driver but still can’t acces with wireless.Somebody cab help me.

      I have Compaq Presario C795TU laptop ,Windows XP Pro.I am trying to install the sound driver setup but it is providing me a message that the device could not be found.
      so can please help me

      At first I can’t find My Compaq Presario C700 Notebook XP driver on hp’s website. I can’t interested using Vista OS. So I am trying to searching winxp version on Google searcher & find your website. Many many thanks for you & your team.

      hi to you all,i think i have the same problem like the others owning a compaq presario c 700,but the other problem i have is that the power button after a while starts blinking indicating that the power from theadapter is no longer getting to the laptop and thereafter the laptop freezes when am trying to use the internet or even installing an anti virus,what can i do to rectify this problem,thanks

      hii to all,i am getting a problem in which when i plugin headphones in my laptop, sound come from both laptop speakers and headphones.. give me some solution of this..
