I bought a Compaq C713 TU Laptop before a few months which had Windows Vista Home Basic on it and as you know, you dont really need it!! So I got in touch with the HP guys and they provided me all the info to get the drivers for my laptop for Windows XP. I know there are a lot of you guys still hunting blogs n forums for this. So here is all the info you need to get them real easy.
- Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (must be installed on the notebook before installing Audio and Modem drivers)
After installing Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Drivers restart the notebook and install following drivers. - Conexant High Definition Audio Driver
(Installing Audio drivers may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.)
a. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
b. Right click on “Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus” and click Update driver.
c. Select “Install from a list or specific location”.
d. Click Next. Then select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”.
e. Click Next and then select “Sound, video and game controller” from the list.
f. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
g. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and continue with the onscreen instructions. - Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP driver
a. Right click on “Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus” and click Update driver.
b. Select “Install from a list or specific location”.
c. Click Next. Then select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”.
d. Click Next and then select “Modem” from the list.
e. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
f. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp33890 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2b) file and click open and continue with the onscreen instructions. - Video Driver
- Chipset driver
- PRO/Wireless Driver
- Synaptic Touchpad
- 5 in 1 card reader driver
- HP Quick Launch Buttons
- Realtek RTL8100CL LAN Driver

yeh man it really worked on my hp compaqc700.i can now play video and her sound on my winxp operating system side.but it appears to be louder than that of vista cos i have both vista and xp running on the same notebook.
